Christian Topp also studied conducting (from 1995-96 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, 2005 at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden and 2005-06 at the Escuela Nacional de Música (UNAM) in Mexico City) but without diploma.
